how we communicate
Most homeowners have lived through a remodel where every update came from a different place. A text from the contractor. An email from the designer. A voicemail from the project manager. A receipt taped to the kitchen counter. By week three, nobody is sure what was decided, what was paid, or what’s happening tomorrow.
We do it differently. Every Lifestyle Design + Remodel client gets a dedicated customer portal powered by JobTread, our project management platform. From your first proposal to your final walkthrough, every part of your project lives in one place that you can log into from your phone, your laptop, or your kitchen tablet. The schedule is there. The renderings are there. The invoices are there. Every conversation we’ve had about the project is there. You see what we see, in real time, for the entire build.
This is what we mean when we talk about removing uncertainty from the remodeling experience. The portal is how we deliver on that promise every day of your project.
Every workday on your project ends with a daily log written by your project manager. You see what got done, who was on site, what the weather was, and what’s planned for tomorrow. Photos are uploaded directly to the log, so you can watch the project move forward without having to drive over to check on it.
If you’re traveling, working long hours, or just don’t want to live inside the construction zone, this is how you stay connected. Open the portal at the end of the day and you’re caught up in two minutes.
Proposals, contracts, change orders, invoices, payment receipts, warranty documents, inspection reports, and your full set of design renderings all live inside the portal, organized and searchable. No hunting through email threads from three months ago. No asking us to resend something. If it’s part of your project, it’s in your portal.
This matters most when you’re making decisions. Comparing two material options? Pull up both selection sheets. Trying to remember what was approved at the kickoff? Open the signed proposal. Need a record for your home insurance after the project closes out? Download the warranty packet directly.
When it’s time to approve a proposal, sign a change order, or pay an invoice, you do it directly inside the portal. Sign the document with your finger or your mouse. Pay the invoice with a card or a bank transfer. The receipt and the signed copy land in your document list automatically.
This replaces the old back-and-forth of printing, signing, scanning, and emailing PDFs. It also gives you a clear paper trail. Every approval and every payment is timestamped and recorded, so you and we are always working from the same record of what was agreed and what was paid.
Every project has a schedule. The difference is whether you can see it.
Inside the portal, your project schedule is visible as a Gantt chart that shows every phase of the build from preconstruction through final walkthrough. You can see what’s been completed, what’s underway, and what’s next. Major milestones, like demo day, cabinetry installation, and final inspection, are all on the timeline so you know exactly when they’re coming.
This is one of the parts of the portal that homeowners tell us they appreciate the most. Knowing what’s happening next week, two weeks from now, and at the end of the month removes a lot of the anxiety that comes with living through a remodel.
When you need to ask a question about your project, you ask it in the portal. The right people on our team see it, respond to it, and the entire thread is saved. Notifications come to your phone, so you don’t have to keep the portal open all day to stay in the loop.
What this replaces is the moment where you’re not sure whether to text Taylor, email Ryan, or call the project manager. There’s one place to talk to us, and the whole team can see the conversation. No question gets lost. No update gets forgotten. No important detail lives only in one person’s inbox.
Cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, and paint. Every material decision in your project is documented in the portal with photos, descriptions, and pricing, so you can review your selections any time without having to remember what you chose at the showroom three weeks ago.
When something is still being decided, you can see it. When something is approved, you can see that too. There’s no mystery about what’s going into your home.
If you want to see the portal in action before your project starts, this short video walks through the main features the way you’ll actually use them.
The portal is how we run every project, and every part of your build flows through it, from approving the proposal to signing off at the final walkthrough. That said, we know not every homeowner wants to spend time inside an app. If you’d rather get phone calls or emails for the important moments, just tell us at kickoff. We’ll make sure you stay in the loop the way you prefer, while still keeping the full record in the portal as your backup.
No. The portal is included with every Lifestyle Design + Remodel project. There’s no setup fee, no per-user charge, and no separate invoice. It’s part of how we work.
Anything with a browser. Desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones all work. There’s also a JobTread mobile app if you want a faster experience on your phone, but it’s not required.
Your project team at Lifestyle Design + Remodel sees the same view you do. We can also add other people to your portal at your request, like a spouse, a partner, or an adult child helping with the project. You decide who has access.
Everything stays in your portal after closeout, including your warranty packet, the final invoice and payment record, your selection sheets, and your full photo history of the project. You can log in any time you need to reference something, even years later.
Most of our clients are not technology people, and the portal is built for that. The most common things you’ll do are review a daily log, sign a document, or open a photo. All of it works the way you’d expect. If you ever get stuck, your project manager will walk you through it.
